The subject is so very critical and sensitive to me, as I am getting many patients with the complaint of migraine, the worst part is that they neither have the family history nor spend hours on mobile phones.
That made me more curious to know. When I probed further and made a home visit, I actually smiled yet was in excruciating pain. The reason was the kind of LED lighting installed, with lesser provisions of natural light.
However, I had to carry out the light therapy (MEDACSIS LILW* RED LIGHT THERAPY). In 15 sittings of the therapy the migraine levels dropped and I asked her to refrain from certain activities and also start performing Yoga.
The next step I did was, a visit to their house in Mumbai.
I shared the disadvantages of the form and kind of lighting and the design they had followed. With some little alterations, the whole space was converted into in the space of Solace rather a space of discomfort.
The few steps which I want to share are:
- The change in the direction of the adjustable luminaires, as I never wanted them to buy the new lights according to my specifications, since they had purchased these lights a year ago.
- I asked them to buy an accessory like a diffuser for their ceiling recessed downlighters.
- I urged them to follow the rules of lighting scheme. What all lights must be in the switch on state and what all is switched off state and when.
- I requested them to experience the changes and the scheme and give me the feedback.
Now overtly, the results had to have an outcome benefitting them being in a solaced state of mine, enjoying the desired outcome of the installed lights and the last was no complaints of harsh lighting, headaches etc.
